Life After FUHS

Attended FJC before being called to active duty in USAF. Served most of tour at Lake Charles AFB Louisiana. Returned to FJC upon discharge, graduated, and moved to Tulsa OK. Married JoAnn there and worked for Douglas Aircraft in Tool Design. About 5 yrs. later, transferred to Santa Monica into Missiles and Space Systems as a Design Engineer working on Thor Weapons System and Saturn Apollo Propulsion Systems; later moved to Huntington Beach facility as an Engineering Section Chief. Was transferred to Kennedy Space Center for launch operations for the Saturn Apollo 'moon missions'. This '2 year tour' turned into a 25 year assignment; great fun and very exciting work. Did a Short stint on the Delta Launch Vehicle program, and the was involved for the balance of my career as Chief Engineer and Director of Engineering Development on the Space Shuttle Program. These assignments led to many wonderful travel experiences to Europe and Japan. Retired after 39+ years with McDonnell Douglas. Attained AA, BS, and MS dergees; married JoAnn, had 3 children and 8 grandchildren; have done a fair amount of travelling (some in an RV), and pursued hobbies as aircraft owner and pilot, automobiles, and motorcycles. We still live in Merritt Island FL but miss the mountains of California. Its been fun.....no regrets!
