On Saturday, October
7th, 2000 the Fullerton High School class of 1980 had their 20th reunion
at the Anaheim Sheraton in the Regent Ballroom. The turnout was great with
about 130 guests.
The evening started
at 6:30 P.M. with mingling, cocktails and dinner begining at 8:00 P.M. It
was reported that the lemon chicken with white wine and caper sauce was very
good, not the dried out rubber chicken that is usually served at banquets.
During the chocolate
mousse dessert, Cindy gave the opening speech and handed out many awards
and prizes. Judy did the raffles and closing speech. Kurt was very busy taking
pictures which you will be viewing on this website.
There was also a
lot of memorabilia of past photos, memory boards, clothing, etc. and the
centerpieces were wine bottles wrapped with red cellophane with balloons
tied to them and given as a prize as well. And don't forget the Big Red gum
that has been around since the 1970's at least!
Every classmate
was given a color bio book, a memory book to come (if you ordered one) and
a champagne glass if you desired it.
The reunion committee
heard from many of you that the night was a success. Thank you for the nice
words. A few people danced but most talked and reminisced. The night concluded
at 1:00 A.M. and hopefully all went away with wonderful memories and rekindled
old relationships.
Thanks to Dean
Budke and Mike Basset the party continued on until all hours of the morning.
I guess the class of "80" still has it in us to know how to party.
Thank you for all
that came and we are sorry for those we missed. Be sure to have your name
added to the FUHS Alumni
website. This will be one of the tools to contact Class of 1980 Alumni
for future events. |
